We Don't Belong Here
SEEK: His Truth
"Father, I don't ask you to take my followers out of the world, but keep them safe from the evil one. They don't belong to this world, and neither do I." John 17:15–16 (CEV)
ASK: For Understanding
Jesus said we don't belong to this world anymore, but didn't ask the Father to remove us. Instead, He prayed for our protection. That's because while we live here, we're no longer of here. Our values, hopes, and priorities are shaped by a kingdom that's not visible to the eye. We're not tourists passing through, we're ambassadors sent on mission. That mission is to speak His truth and make disciples. Living here isn't going to be easy, but it is possible because Jesus has overcome this world.
KNOCK: Doing What He Says
Take time today to reflect on how your identity in Christ shapes how you live in this world. Do your words, decisions, and values reflect the fact that you belong to another kingdom?
RECEIVE: Align Your Spirit to Accept His Will
Lord, thank You for reminding me that this world is not my home. Help me to live with eternity in mind and continue your mission above all else. Amen.
Do you know Jesus?
To be saved, you must admit your sin and trust in Jesus Christ as your redeemer. He redeemed you by taking your punishment as His own on the cross. The fact that He rose again is proof that He can give you new life too.
Salvation comes by God’s grace through faith, not by our works, but by trusting in Christ alone. When you confess Him as Lord and chose to follow Him, you are forgiven, made new, and given eternal life with God.
Call out to Jesus today by praying: “Lord, I am a sinner in need of forgiveness. I believe you are able to forgive me and make me new. I trust in you. I commit my life to you. Amen.”
